We opened Dinner at Home between Deaths in Los Angeles. I will add more pictures as I get production photos. Here are a couple. The set is truly magnificent. I wrote this play without regard for cost. As you likely know, mostly us playwrights write for a black box and no money. I had decided this time to write for Broadway. With this World Premiere, the designers and producers had to solve all the problems I created for a small and lower cost space. They did an amazing job. The set serves for four distinct playing areas. A dining room, which it mostly looks like here, an office, a bathroom (the table transforms into a bathtub!) and a sail boat. The second picture shows you how they sail. They stand on the table and credenza. There is a sculpture that comes down to serve as the sail. It hangs back up to be art in the dining room. The designers and Stuart Ross, director, were so smart and inventive. It works perfectly. I am thrilled.
